The US trade deficit is worth $1 trillion per year. I think everyone will get what I'm saying. This is neocolonialism in the modern sense. Because of the dollar's monopoly status, the US spends $1 trillion more annually than it generates. It takes these resources away from other nations, the US Dollar a fiat money not backed by Gold; No Gold in Fort Knox

A few months ago the big banks of USA went to China. Perhaps they asked China to sent the message that they paused the buying of gold. This could surpress the price of gold, at least temporary. This could help USA banks to close their short positions in stead of have te be hit by a big squeeze by high rising gold... A super deal for both...

Gold is only a nice thought as a reserve! Its too small over the money flowing around the world! Its a low significance for dedollariaatiin!

For more then 30 years I work in the IT and most of the time I am assigned working at banking sector. The coming years many IT staff is going to retire so for implementing CBDC’s lack of IT staff will become a blocking issues.

Daunting to think that according to Alasdair Macleod’s calculations the £ is going to lose 1/3 of its value in the near future. Doing similar calculations what will the Euro and the $ lose? The change is lifestyle for most people will be devastating, even compared to the 70s which I remember well. The rouble will win out but what about the yuan and the rest of the Brics, are they equally indebted? Maybe the upside will be that people will have to engage their brains and stop being taken to the cleaners by the government on ‘Climate Change’ etc.

$2,000 gold is no big deal because $1 is nearly valueless. $2,000 iOS the old $1,000. I remember spending $1 for lunch and now I’m up to $15 or $20. An FRN is useless as a unit of measure.

I'm sad to say most Americans are emotionally depleted by all the symptoms of a debt soaked failing financial system that is absolutely sucking the life out of them, stealing the dreams of young people and creating an aura of deep regret in older people. They can't buy gold and don't understand silver is the real monetary unit. Most Americans hate crypto as a symbol of financial system corruption and total bullshit. They don't want the economy to crack but they know that it must because of real estate. If you were smart enough to buy physical gold and silver in your possession-HOLD ON. This is a long protracted death and the fight is absolutely against gold and silver as the unit of account but the time draws very close. No one can trust bonds or debt instruments any longer and this absolutely will not change. Just understand that the most horrible thing in the world for the banks, governments and the wealthy is the acknowledgement that a printed/fiat unit of account/trading instrument can no longer work. Once this last vestige of trust is eroded by continuing inflation, collapse of debt payments, or international war the FIAT ILLUSION will be destroyed and we will enter into a new paradigm and there is NO LIMIT to the purchasing power of physical gold or silver in any form. Even large ingots of copper, brass and aluminum will increase dramatically in fiat dollar valuations and hold an inflating purchasing power power to the failed international monetary units. The upward march of technologt will not be halted but rather governments will drive the value upwards of physical metals of all forms by their wartime efforts that will absolutely include cyber warfare and the development of servers not accessible to foriegn soveriegns. We will see domestic secured "internets" that exist alongside the global internet.

The U.S. has the rico law that was brought in for this kind criminal organization that rig & manipulate through racketeering, I tell you if i was still practicing it wouldn't take me long to get the ball rolling especially with a 50 billion compensation package, and while i am at it I would look very seriously at these regulators, they have to be taking kickbacks to turn a blind eye to this bs, not to mention something is going on with the doj as well as they also are turning a blind eye to this crime. (relate it to a professional hockey game, if you have three refs calling a game to decide the outcome of that game, that is considered a rigged game and it wouldn't take long for people to be in jail, same as, you have 8 banks trading paper contracts to decide the outcome of the physical spot price, this is considered racketeering at its highest. this is a criminal act. put these criminals in jail.

The gold bug pumpers are out in force lately. Usually a contrarian indicator. They seem desperate to me.

The most important question in discussions is about which region are we talking? The biggest depression will be where? In US only, in EU?, in the west?, everywhere? I do not see the SCO members go down the drains with EU and US. When Alasdair says the USD might go dodo any day and the BP could devalue to 1:1 to USD -- I wonder that a German does not ask where the Euro is seen in this mess.
